Environment

The environmental results from production, distribution, consumption, and disposal of goods and services should be taken into account. Exploiting inadequate environmental regulations and governance is wrong.

Sustainability

Products should be produced in a way that does not exhaust the resource. For example, a fishery can be managed in a way that avoids over-fishing. The fish industry in Alaska is monitored by organizations such as the Marine Stewardship Council which monitor and certify fishery practices.[1] A retailer such as Walmart may choose to buy only products such as seafood which have been harvested in a sustainable manner.[2]
