Tiered minimum wage
In 2013 Washington D.C. proposed requiring large profitable retailers such as Walmart pay a higher minimum wage.
Firms engaged in creative work often offer unpaid internships to young people and recent graduates. This practice discriminates against workers without the funds to work for free and violates minimum wage laws.
